Why I won’t follow you back!

As all bloggers propably do, I love getting comments and likes on my posts. I love interacting with people and I love creating content that is helpful, inspiring and fun. Getting a nice comment is a reassurance that the effort I put into my blog doesn’t go unnoticed. Thing is a lot of the comments I get consist of the phrase “I follow back.” Problem is I do not want people to follow my blog because I commented, liked or followed them. I did that with all my sincerity without expecting something in return. But other than that I get devastated because now every like or comment I see I think did they really mean it or is this an effort so that I will follow them? And this takes away from my success. Every follower is immensely important for me as long as they are sincere. So please, I would love to chat but don’t ever expect a follow back from me. I will only follow you because I love your content. So you can be sure you have a true follower in me. Love you guys.

Kiehl’s: An outstanding first impression

My night face cream is close to empty. Not because it was amazing but because I can’t really afford throwing away full, new products. So naturally I was in the hunt for a new one. The whole web has been raving for quite some time about Kiehl’s ultra facial cream. The amazing reviews in addition to a pretty reasonable price tag made me check out the Kiehl’s booth.

The girl at the booth, Maria, was overly kind. After she introduced herself she asked me if I had some time to talk and to do a test in order to create a personalized skin care routine. Since I wasn’t in some kind of hurry I said yes. At first she talked about the company. How it was established in 1851 and how they use naturally-derived products to heal the skin and help it work as it should. After she applied two strips on my forehead and cheek she told me how moist and healthy my skin was (what kind of sorcery is this). Maria then proceeded to ask me what my skin struggles were. After she wrote all the information down in my newly created electronic file she presented me with a skin care routine she believed would best suit me. Since I only needed a cream and I hadn’t tried the brand I only opted for the cream and promised myself that if I am satisfied with the products I tried I would gradually switch my skincare products to the ones Maria suggested. I also got a magic elixir for my head’s dry skin. Last thing that impressed me is that if you take empty bottles back for recycling for 3 you get a lip balm, for 5 a deluxe sample and for ten a full size product from a specific list.

All in all I saw a brand that promotes natural products that are kind to the skin while considering the environment by using recycled packaging and rewarding people who recycle.

Pomegranate Salad

Especially during holidays pomegranate is something that’s probably laying around your house!! So what better way to make use of it rather than making a salad? This recipe is really easy to make and very good looking… ( Hey new Instagram picture). It’s really sweet and a really great idea for making when having people over. So let’s get started!

You will need:

For the Salad

  • Green Salad of your choice
  • Pomegranate seed
  • Feta cheese
  • Oranges (at least two)

As far as quantity is concerned the vinaigrette is enough for a huge bowl so decide accordingly.

  •

For the Vinaigrette (we’re getting specific here so if you want to make less or more make sure the quantity of the ingredients is proportionate)

  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Mix all of it separately and pour as much you need in the salad. You can skip or add ingredients and generally do what you like. But I can guarantee it will look cute af. And it’s healthy. I might be wrong but it’s a win win here. If you try it make sure to send me some pics!

By the way here’s how to cut an orange. I couldn’t do it but whatever. Next time maybe!!!

    The weirdest DIY “photography studio”

Most normal bloggers have to deal with crappy lighting and mediocre phone cameras. So do I! So people definitely ask me “how do you get semi presentable photos?” Unfortunately if you don’t own photography lights the only other chance for a good shot is natural lighting. So a sunny day is your best ally. But unless you want to look like a crazy person shooting a flat lay in the middle of the street you have to do it inside the house. You will need:

    • A big sunny window
    • A cute (preferably white ) blanket
    • A big surface

Set your blanket as your background on the area that the window is overlooking and use your phone to take the photos. Some editing and the photos are ready to be posted.  If it works it’s not stupid!

      A scent to remember

I love the idea of people smelling a particular smell and immediately connecting it to me. With a billion of amazing fragrances in the market you could wear a different one every day for your whole life. It is tempting to say the least. But it’s really amazing to think my friends, my family, my boyfriend are somewhere smelling a girl wearing the same cologne and instantly think about me. I love walking out of a room knowing that whoever walks in next will know I was there. I love when my boyfriend says I miss your smell I know exactly what he talks about. It took me years to find a smell that I loved and suited me, my character and I what I wanted to show the world. And I found it. That smell for me is Dior Addict.

Dior Addict Eau de Parfum unleashes fresh and captivating top notes that blend Mandarin Leaf with Tunisian Orange Blossom.

Intense and vibrant, it reveals a powerful heart of Jasmine Sambac Absolute that blossoms with soft femininity and sensuality. The base unfurls in the deep and exquisite warmth of Bourbon Vanilla.

A soft and seductive trail tinged with light.

Although it is the perfect smell for me I unfortunately realized that although amazing for the colder months it was to heavy for Greece’s hot summers. So I had to make a compromise. I decided to wear my favorite perfume for as long as it’s cold outside and switch it when the weather starts to get warmer. So I went in search again for the perfect summer scent. I chose Armani Code,  a fresh, sexy, feminine blend of zesty blood orange, ginger, and pear sorbet softened with hints of sambac jasmine, orange blossom, and lavender honey, warmed with precious woods and vanilla.

There is definitely a theme! Everyone is different some people have a signature scent and some don’t. Either way check these two out. You might fall in love like I did or maybe you’ll have to keep searching a bit longer. Your perfect scent is out there.

What is your favorite scent? Let me know in the comments below. Maybe you’ll be the reason I’ll decide to switch things up!!!

      What I love about winter

It’s that time of year AGAIN!!! I love those cold months. There are these particular moments when the weather is really dull, it’s raining outside and you’re snuggled in your oversized sweater drinking hot chocolate and watching old classic movies that make you feel sooo nostalgic. Or when you sit for literally days doing nothing but getting lost in the pages of your favorite book. And then comes the holidays. No matter where you live or what you celebrate we all get the chance to be with friends and family and just feel blessed and loved. I love all those things. So we should cherish and feel grateful about those moments and enjoy them as much as we can because these will be the happy memories of our future!!!!
