3 Easy Ways to Blog More Consistently

Hello, beautiful readers!

How long has it been since you hit ‘Publish’ on a new post? Life is busy, and your blogging habits can slip aside. If you’re thinking of reinventing your blog schedule or habits, check out these tips to help you get started:

1. Decide on a realistic publishing schedule

Some bloggers post daily, others post 2-3 times per week. Find a schedule that suits you, and keep in mind that you shouldn’t feel pressured to post each day. What matters is sticking to the schedule you set, and posting consistently based on that schedule.

2. Dedicate set times to work on your blog

Routines make life easier. Establishing a routine is a great way to build good habits and increase your efficiency. Setting up a dedicated time to write new content will increase your consistency. For example, you could dedicate a few hours each Saturday to blog, or write a new post each day on your lunch break.

3. Reward yourself for your consistency

Accomplishing a task feels great! Rewards act as a motivator, so plan a reward for yourself once you write a post. It’s not only more motivating to get work done, but integrating a reward makes it satisfying.

How I Grew My Small Blog in 3 Months

Hello, everyone. My name is Mercy from the blog Mercyish. My blog revolves around budget beauty, positivity and all things pretty and you can read my blog roundup to see some of my best work! Of course, I’d like to thank Naya for inviting me to guest write on this blog and I hope her readers enjoy my post.

Today I would like to share how I grew my small blog in the first 3 months. I started my blog in mid September 2016 and by December 2016 I had 500 readers with average 3,000 views per month. Even though it doesn’t sound much, for a nobody blogger like me, it’s a huge start. This is how I did it:

1. Focus on writing useful content that attract my target readers, which are young women interested in budget beauty products as well as young new bloggers like myself. This way, my blog is streamlined into specific topics and new readers will know what to expect out of my future posts.

2. Engage with current readers and make friends with new ones. In order to actually gain readership, engagement is a very crucial step. I realise that the more I interact with my readers, the more they come back for new posts. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with making new friends. Now my blogger friends and I are all friends on my Instagram too, which is always a great plus!

3. Create a page that makes readers actually want to stay longer and read more. I invested a lot of my time on designing my blog to suit my theme and to attract readers. Most of my readers have mentioned that they like my blog because of how visually exciting it is. I have written a post on how I designed my blog in 5 easy steps and it really doesn’t cost any money. I use a free WordPress template and it works just fine, so don’t worry about spending too much money on your blog!

4. Be discipline with organising my blog posts and ideas. It is very easy to cram all my ideas into consecutive blog posts when I think that it will attract readers. In reality, once that train of inspiration passes by, my readers don’t come back. Instead, I try to stick to a schedule and plan out what and when to post for the next few weeks. As a new blogger, I didn’t understand what kind of planner works for me and after a few months, I finally figured it out and designed my own blog organiser based on my experience as a new blogger. I am currently giving out this free printable blog organiser that hopefully can be useful for all of you and improve your blogging life.

Once again, I’m really glad that I can write here and share my experience as a new blogger. Looking forward to writing more and sharing more experience with Naya’s Fairytale readers here. Xoxo, Mercy.
