3 Simple Tips to Remove Makeup at the End of the Day

Hello, lovely readers!

If you want to wake up with fresh, glowing skin each day, removing your makeup is essential. You’re doing your skin a favour by removing makeup each day. Here are a few tips I like to use when I do not have my favourite makeup remover on hand.

1. Take advantage of steam

Fill your sink with hot water and let your face hover above it for 1-2 minutes. The steam will open your pores and make it easier for cleanser to absorb into the skin.2. Try an oil-based makeup remover to remove lipstick Long-wearing liquid lipsticks can be stubborn to remove. Soak a cotton pad in an oil-based makeup remover to dissolve your lipstick. 3. Make your own formulaI recently made my own balm to remove makeup. It combines oil and beeswax to gently remove my makeup. To create this formula, I combine 1/4 cup of olive oil and a tablespoon of beeswax. I melt the beeswax into the oil, allow it to harden then pour it into a container.

3 Easy Ways to Blog More Consistently

Hello, beautiful readers!

How long has it been since you hit ‘Publish’ on a new post? Life is busy, and your blogging habits can slip aside. If you’re thinking of reinventing your blog schedule or habits, check out these tips to help you get started:

1. Decide on a realistic publishing schedule

Some bloggers post daily, others post 2-3 times per week. Find a schedule that suits you, and keep in mind that you shouldn’t feel pressured to post each day. What matters is sticking to the schedule you set, and posting consistently based on that schedule.

2. Dedicate set times to work on your blog

Routines make life easier. Establishing a routine is a great way to build good habits and increase your efficiency. Setting up a dedicated time to write new content will increase your consistency. For example, you could dedicate a few hours each Saturday to blog, or write a new post each day on your lunch break.

3. Reward yourself for your consistency

Accomplishing a task feels great! Rewards act as a motivator, so plan a reward for yourself once you write a post. It’s not only more motivating to get work done, but integrating a reward makes it satisfying.

3 Tips to Relieve Holiday Stress

Hello, beautiful readers!

The holidays are a joyous, exciting, but stressful time. With shopping, baking, and other activities to complete, there are several ways to minimize your holiday stress.

1. Set a shopping budget

This is the first step in my holiday shopping routine. While spending money throughout the holiday season is unavoidable, there are ways to control your spending. Plan ahead, review your finances, and develop a realistic budget for gifts.

2. Make a list, and check it twice

Creating a shopping and ‘to-do’ list is beneficial to keep yourself on track before Christmas. A list enables you to determine who you are shopping for, what you plan to buy, and organizes other activities to complete.

Forget the idea of perfection

Don’t stress about trying to be perfect. Focus your energy on the people in your life and enjoy the quality time you have during the holidays to spend with them.

3 Ways to Use a Planner

Hello, beautiful readers!

I use a planner faithfully while in college or working. It tracks my due dates, appointments and other important reminders. Here are four of my favourite tips to help you use a planner too!

1. Use one planner, if possible

It can be difficult to maintain both a personal planner and school-based planner. Find a planner you can use for both personal and business/school. This will keep your due-dates and other tasks organized.

2. Check your planner often

It is important to check your planner daily. Doing so will ensure you know the tasks/reminders you must complete each day. Keep your planner in a spot that is highly visible. I keep mine in my purse, for example.

3. Set aside time each week to organize your planner

Set aside time to review your planner each week. Ensure this time period is uninterrupted to maintai concentratio while you review.

4 Time-Saving Beauty Hacks Every Girl Should Know

Hello, beautiful readers!

How many of you spend a lot of time and energy getting ready each morning? With a few simple tricks, it is easy to minimize the time and effort it takes to complete your morning routine each day.

1. Make your eyeliner symmetrical every time by marking the end of the line with a dot

Once you figure out where you want the dot, draw a small line from the dot inward to to connect it to the liner at your lash line. This trick ensures your liner is crisp and straight every time. Alternatively, you can place a piece of tape along the desired line and trace your liner along it.

2. Mix together foundation and moisturizer

This tip combines the steps of applying moisturizer and foundation into one. This also helps you adjust the foundation tint to your skin. The moisturizer will also add extra moisture to the foundation, giving your skin a dewy finish.

3. Use baby powder in your hair to absorb excess oil

No time to shower in the morning? Adding a small amount of baby powder to your roots and combing it through your ends absorbs excess oil from your scalp. I use this trick often when I sleep past my alarm.

4. Combine eyeliner and mascara

I use this tip often when I do not have eyeliner nearby. I substitute it with mascara instead. Dip a thin brush into your mascara tube and apply along your top lash line. This creates the effect of eyeliner.

3 Tips to Manage Your Life as a StudentĀ

Hello, beautiful readers!

As a student, we juggle a lot. We manage classes, homework, socializing, employment and more. I often ask myself: How can I better manage my life? I use the methods below to help manage my life.

1. Use a Planner

I began using a planner faithfully this year. I’d be lost without it. I use this paper planner daily. It is a staple for many students like me.

A planner is a valuable tool to schedule everything important in your life. Information I include in my planner:

  • Due dates for assignments/tests
  • Birthdays of family and friends
  • Medical appointments
  • Bill payment reminders

2. Make time for the people and things you love

I incorporate this into my self-care routine. You’ll be happier (and healthier!) when you devote time and energy into tasks you enjoy. Find 1-2 things you love doing + 1-2 people to make a top priority. This helps you focus your time and energy.

3. Outline, outline, outline

The biggest organization tool I use is the Monthly View in my planner. When each semester begins, I go through my class syllabus and record due dates. I outline my semester to give myself a broad view of tasks to accomplish each month.
