3 Easy Ways to Blog More Consistently

Hello, beautiful readers!

How long has it been since you hit ‘Publish’ on a new post? Life is busy, and your blogging habits can slip aside. If you’re thinking of reinventing your blog schedule or habits, check out these tips to help you get started:

1. Decide on a realistic publishing schedule

Some bloggers post daily, others post 2-3 times per week. Find a schedule that suits you, and keep in mind that you shouldn’t feel pressured to post each day. What matters is sticking to the schedule you set, and posting consistently based on that schedule.

2. Dedicate set times to work on your blog

Routines make life easier. Establishing a routine is a great way to build good habits and increase your efficiency. Setting up a dedicated time to write new content will increase your consistency. For example, you could dedicate a few hours each Saturday to blog, or write a new post each day on your lunch break.

3. Reward yourself for your consistency

Accomplishing a task feels great! Rewards act as a motivator, so plan a reward for yourself once you write a post. It’s not only more motivating to get work done, but integrating a reward makes it satisfying.

What are your top tips to blog consistently?

Time to spread your wings

So tomorrow I leave my home behind. I have to leave my doggo behind, my room, my family and friends, my country, but most of all, I have to leave my comfort and safe place behind. Starting tomorrow I embark on a whole new chapter and journey of my life where I’ll be off to a whole different place where I’ll be starting college.

I am feeling all kinds of emotions right now. Sad, excited, happy, overwhelmed, chaotic (the state my room’s currently in and also my mind)… but this time I definitely don’t have a feeling of uncertainty. I do know that when I arrive I will be feeling way out of my place and scared, but that is part of the challenge. That’s the whole thing of going on with your life after school, after living under your parents roof for many years and also having them there to help you with whatever and whenever.

In the midst of all the packing and getting everything ready before I leave, I knew that I had to write this post and just share with you how I am feeling. Maybe there’s some of you who reads this that might be going through the same thing right now.

Monday morning when I woke up, I felt this extreme nervous feeling in my stomach and everything starting feeling like it’s a reality. I think what I am most nervous about currently is being on my own. My family and home will be thousands of kilometers away from me, in a different country. I have to meet new people and make new friends and do new things. And I am excited for that, but I also feel very nervous, because most of the things around me will be “unknown”.

Maybe I am feeling stressed about things that I shouldn’t have to be worried about, maybe my biggest stress will end up being the amount of work I’ll have, cause I probably will be very busy. So I am going to apologize in advance if you guys might not see a blog post from me for the first few weeks.

Like I said in my previous post about my blogging goals for this year, I do want to post more regularly and consistently, but I am also aware that I will be very busy, that’s why my planning will have to be spot on. I know that the first month or so of college will probably be all over the place, so until I have settled and gotten more organized, I will get back into the blogging game.

Oh and I will also be able to post more beauty related things this year, because I will have more access to beauty items and all that jazz. I am after all going to learn to become a master at makeup and to turn people into zombies, fairies – whatever they desire haha

I can’t believe today is my last day here in my comfy, cozy home. I am writing this, sitting in my room that looks like a hurricane has hit it, with my sweet doggo laying beside me – I am going to miss her so much.

But, it is time for me to step out of my comfort zone and spread my wings and learn to fly on my own.

My blogging journey so far & goals 2018

Okay, I feel like the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is officially over 😦 well… at least where I live. Everyone’s going back to school and work and starting the new year. I for one, am still in the holiday spirit and feel like Christmas has gone way too fast. But even though I still wanna lay out in the sun on the beach and read a book, I also can’t wait for the adventures and opportunities this new year has to offer!

But before I continue with it all, I just wanna do a quick recap of my blogging experience and journey so far and also what goals I set out for myself for my blog for this year.

Okay, so I started my blog somewhere in August last year and it was just a very spontaneous move I made, but I definitely don’t regret it. I really enjoy writing about things that genuinely makes me feel bliss (hence my blog’s name) and it really puts a smile on my face when other people enjoy my blog and the things I write about.

My blogging experience so far has mostly been positive and it’s definitely something I’d want to continue with. I’ve gathered a few points on what stands out for me in the whole blogging journey and also somethings’ I struggle with.

The blogging community —

My experience with fellow bloggers and just the blogging community in general has been really positive so far. Everyone’s really supportive of one another’s blogs and genuinely kind. I think having a positive blog community plays a huge role in whether or not you want to continue with blogging and also affects the things you post and your general attitude while blogging or replying to comments – luckily I haven’t had any bad experiences yet and I doubt that I will have any, because bloggers truly are supportive of other peoples’ blogs, especially when you’re first starting out!

Interaction —

I love reading other bloggers posts and if it’s something I genuinely enjoyed or are interested in, I’d sometimes leave a comment and interact with the other blogger and I always appreciate it when they reply back to me or just even like my comment, because it makes me feel like they also want to interact back. I just think it’s always good to interact as much as possible with the people who read your blog and for me personally, that is one of the things I have enjoyed about blogging, being able to communicate with others.

Coming up with new ideas & getting creative —

This one has to be something I enjoy, but also something I struggle with. I love coming up with new blog post ideas and if it’s something I can take beautiful photographs of, I get really excited, because I love photography and I can play around and get creative.

BUT… as much as I enjoy it, this is also something I struggle with a lot of times – coming up with new blog post ideas. There are times where I have loads of ideas and I want to write them all and post them and then there comes days where I have absolutely NO clue what to write about and no inspo, but I’m sure I am not the only one struggling.

I have set out a few goals for my blog for this year, and I am gonna try my best to try and stick with ’em and to accomplish them 🙂

Posting more consistently & regularly —

So I am very aware that my consistent posting game has been very off this past two months… and there are reasons for that. I was busy studying and tried to focus more on my studies aaaannndd let’s be real, the holiday season can get really busy and crazy and I just struggled to find time to post, because I do take my time when I write a blog post…

So I therefore I have made it one of my goals, to improve on my consistency of posting. And I am actually starting college at the end of January and I’ll probably be very busy, but I really do want to continue blogging and keep on improving. Planning is key! Right?

Finish my blog’s “logo” —

I am not sure if you can call it a logo, that sounds too corporate, but I guess that’s the right word. I already have an idea of what I want it to look like, I just need to design it and finalize it.

Seeking more inspiration —

Like I said, I have a lot of days where I really have no idea what to post, I think what really happens is that I actually do have many ideas, I just think it’s too much that it then feels like I have nothing to write about, but actually I just can’t choose what to write about? Anyway, I am gonna try and cancel out these days by planning ahead, once again, and also to look for inspo around me or from other people.

So there you have it guys! This was just a quick overview of what I have experienced with blogging so far and what I want to achieve this year with my blog.

Thanks for reading 🙂

3 Tips to Relieve Holiday Stress

Hello, beautiful readers!

The holidays are a joyous, exciting, but stressful time. With shopping, baking, and other activities to complete, there are several ways to minimize your holiday stress.

1. Set a shopping budget

This is the first step in my holiday shopping routine. While spending money throughout the holiday season is unavoidable, there are ways to control your spending. Plan ahead, review your finances, and develop a realistic budget for gifts.

2. Make a list, and check it twice

Creating a shopping and ‘to-do’ list is beneficial to keep yourself on track before Christmas. A list enables you to determine who you are shopping for, what you plan to buy, and organizes other activities to complete.

Forget the idea of perfection

Don’t stress about trying to be perfect. Focus your energy on the people in your life and enjoy the quality time you have during the holidays to spend with them.

Building Better Mental Health: 3 Strategies to Boost Your Mood and Build Resilience

Hello, beautiful readers!

Your mental health influences how you think, feel, and act daily. It also influences your ability to cope with stressors, handle your emotions, and manage your feelings. Anyone can struggle with their mental health but there are ways to elevate your mood and enjoy the little things in life. Here are 3 strategies to help you accomplish this:

1. Prioritize socialization

Face-to-face interaction with friends and loved ones is stress-busting and mood-boosting. Find someone in your life who is a good listener to share your thoughts and feelings. A good listener will validate your feelings and won’t judge, criticize, or interrupt you.

Tips for connecting with others:

  • Call a friend or loved one and arrange to meet up
  • Spend some time disconnected – step away from your computer/phone screen for a little while to nurture your real-life relationships
  • Don’t be afraid to make new connections

2. Learn how to manage your stress

Stress takes a heavy toll on your mental and emotional health. (As I type this, I’m glancing anxiously at my never-ending calendar of due dates.) It is important to keep stress under control to stay healthy.

Stress-management tips:

  • Make leisure time a priority
  • Take up a relaxing hobby (For example: Journaling, jogging, meditation)
  • Talk to a friendly face

3. Don’t skimp on sleep

Getting enough sleep each night is critical for your health. Skimping on even a few hours per night can take a toll on your energy, emotions, and ability to handle stress. Adults should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

Tips for getting better sleep:

  • Calm the mind and prepare the body for sleep by taking a bath, listening to soft music, or lighting your favourite scented candle
  • Stick to a regular sleep-wake cycle to help set your body’s internal clock
  • Make sure your bedroom is dark, cool, and quiet

What strategies do you use to boost your mental health and wellness?

Positive vibes only

Hey guys,

It’s the start of a new week and I thought I might start it off with a positive/uplifting quotes blog post. You guys seem to like the last one about motivational quotes 🙂

So not only am I writing this post because I want to give some of you a positive start to the week, maybe you’re not looking forward to this week or your Monday hasn’t been the best so far, but I am also writing this post because I myself need some positive quotes to just get me going again, especially on this day, where a certain event is taking place that is close to my heart…

The world has so much negativity going on every where and I know that just by posting some positive quotes won’t make it any better, but at least it’s some positivity some where.

So there you guys have it! I hope you guys like the quotes and that they bring you some sunshine and happiness!

What’s your favourite positivity quote?

September: Suicide Prevention Month

Hello everyone!

On the 10th of September was the World Suicide Prevention Day (and it’s currently National Suicide Prevention week) and as we all know the entire month of September is dedicated to those who are struggling and of course to raise awareness on this very important cause. I know this can be a very touchy subject to talk about, especially for those who have actually gone through it and survived it. I just felt that this is something I need to write about, because it lies close to my heart and I want others to be aware of the importance of preventing suicide.

Talking about suicide has always been one of those things that nobody wants to talk about, because they would rather just throw some shade onto it. But why? Is it because you feel ashamed that someone close to you has tried to end his/her life, because you see it as a cowardly action? As Judy Collins said: ”I think suicide is sort of like cancer was 50 years ago. People don’t want to talk about it, they don’t want to know about it. People are frightened of it, and they don’t understand, when actually these issues are treatable.”

I can genuinely talk about this matter from my heart, because I myself have also almost lost a family member that is so close to me and who I love dearly. Countless times I have heard of people whom I’m friends with or just know really well who has also tried to end their life or who actually did… And yes, let me tell you, it is an awful and heartbreaking feeling when someone looks you in the eyes with tears and says, “I don’t want to live anymore.”

There is sooooo many of us that has gone through this, whether it is someone close to you or it is you, we need to start being more aware of this matter. Suicide is everywhere and sometimes you have no clue when a stranger sitting next to you or a dear friend of yours starts to have suicidal thoughts. And the sad thing is, it just gets worse by the day.

I feel that September shouldn’t be the only time we raise awareness and put our attention on it. We should be paying attention to this every single day, just like October being the month for Breast Cancer Awareness, we should be raising awareness every day.

I understand that it is easier said than done, but like Judy said, it is treatable. Do you know where you can start first with helping to treat this matter?

You. You can start by improving yourself first.

Be humble and kind to others. Ask people how are they doing, show interest in them. Show them that you care and that they are not alone in this world. Be affectionate towards your loved ones and tell them how much you love them and why they are so amazing! Be supportive of your friends and make sure they know you are there for them. Smile at a stranger or just simply ask them how are they or even give them a compliment.

You have no clue what’s going on in someone’s head and heart, but a simple word or action of love and kindness could save someone’s life. If all of us just start spreading more love and support, we can prevent this.

I know that there are many, many different reasons why people want to commit suicide. Reasons like alcohol and drug abuse, losing a loved one, financial problems, or just feeling like your a failure. Like I mentioned before, talking about and dealing with suicide is difficult, especially for the person actually going through it, but it shouldn’t be difficult for them to ask for help. But, unfortunately some link commiting suicide with being a coward and a disgrace. And this breaks my heart, because I believe that’s one of the top reasons why people don’t talk about suicide.

470048

So there are many ways everyone of us can help with the prevention of suicide, but I truly believe the first step to prevention is starting with yourself. Be a kinder and humble person, help one another and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Be supportive, because at the end of the day we are all going through tough times and we really only have each other. By doing this there will already be a huge, HUGE difference.

Thank you guys for taking some time to read this —

And for all of you who have wanted to leave this world, but decided to stay, be proud of yourself, because I am proud of you. You are a survivor. You are awesome. You are amazing. YOU ARE A WARRIOR.

Midweek Motivation

Hey everyone! ♥

I hope you guys have a great week so far. Today is Wednesday (for most of us) and it is the middle of the week, the weekend still seems so far away and you might be feeling like this week just won’t come to an end and it may be causing you to lose your motivation. There are many different factors that could be causing the fire burning inside of you to slowly fade away.

Whether work, school or college is taking its toll on you or you struggle to keep up with your workout routine and healthy habits or you just have zero motivation left for ANYTHING. So, I thought choosing a few motivational and inspirational quotes and words to share with you guys in the middle of the week, because this is the time most of us starts to get unmotivated, would be a good idea and will hopefully get you guys back on track and full of fire again!

W O R K / S C H O O L / C O L L E G E

No matter if you’re in school, college or already have a job, it is always important to remember your career goals and dreams and how you’re gonna achieve them and having a few motivational words will remind you of them:

E X E R C I S E / H E A L T H Y  H A B I T S

You might have created a monthly workout routine and healthy habits program for yourself or you’re busy with a Kayla Itsines BBG program AND then all of a sudden you just lose your motivation to continue and you’re like, what the heck…? And that’s when you start making excuses like “I will just workout double tomorrow” or “one chocolate bar and Coca Cola won’t hurt”. Yeahh…unless you have very good self-control skills and you will actually stick to “just this one time” and continue with your healthy lifestyle the next day, then sure why not, but if you know that these excuses will continue on to the next day and the next and the next then STOP and read these words first to gain back your determination to get that summer bod or even better – a spring, summer, fall/autumn, winter bod:

W H E N   Y O U ‘ R E   F E E L I N G   A   B I T   D O W N

We all have our bad days and that’s totally okay, but make sure to pull yourself back up and show the world what you’re made of:

S O M E  M O R E  Q U O T E S

I really hope that these words of motivation and inspiration helps every one of you reading this. I got all of these pretty quote images from Pinterest. I have a board on there named “motivational quotes” if you are seeking some more word porn. (you can find the link to my Pinterest account on my blog page)

Remember peeps, for some a simple quote will be enough to get them started again, but some of us require a bit more motivation than just a quote. Go figure out what it is that is making you feel unmotivated and try to solve it – you got this!

Till next time 🙂

Traveling & how it feeds the soul

Hey guys!

This is my favourite topic ever and I’m sure so many of you can agree. Traveling really is the best way to feed the soul. It makes you happy and calm in a way nothing else can. I love to travel, as you can probably tell, and me and my family used to travel a lot. We would travel and explore the different landscapes our beautiful country has to offer every August of every year. I love to go camping and I find it so relaxing for the soul. Just going on simple adventures makes me so happy. It is my ultimate dream to be able to travel the world one day.

I sometimes find it really difficult to understand why some people don’t love to travel so much, because I really only see all the benefits of traveling. I have made a list of the benefits of traveling for you guys and I hope it can convince someone to go explore more:

  • Improving your communication and social skills – especially in a country where your mother tongue isn’t spoken that much. This gives you the opportunity to communicate with the locals and learn more about them.
  • Learning to deal with the unexpected – we all know that not everything always goes to plan when traveling. Stressful situations can happen, but such uncertainties can help you to cope better with it and to work under pressure.
  • Stimulates creativity and ideas – whether you’re an artist, a photographer or a blogger, traveling to new places that are different from what you’re used to, can give you some really good inspo!
  • Improving your knowledge of cultures – every country has their own people with their own unique cultures. Getting to know these people and their way of doing things can really help you understand in what circumstances they live. Tip: whenever you plan a trip to a country you’ve never been to or have little knowledge of, it’s always a good idea to learn about their culture and etiquette beforehand.
  • Creates memories that will last a lifetime – always make sure to take some sort of camera with you to capture those candid moments or beautiful scenery! Having pictures will give you something to look back to whenever you want to relive those memories!
  • Improves your knowledge and confidence in general – you get to know the country, it’s people and cultures better and if you’re really into it, you just might learn a new language too!

These last 3 benefits are most definitely my favourite and the most important:

  • FUN, FUN, FUN! Traveling really just is so much fun, despite sometimes being in stressful situations, it makes you smile and happy for ages!
  • The best way to find yourself is with traveling and traveling solo makes it even better. Like I said, you will find yourself in stressful situations and the way you handle them will teach you about yourself. I don’t really know how to explain this one, but it just aids in helping to find yourself. I think if you just do it, you will know and understand how it helps.
  • The last, but definitely not the least. Calm. Content. Collected. Traveling feeds the soul. I personally think it is the best way to relieve yourself of any stress or any negativity that is going on in your life. Just traveling to a breathtakingly beautiful location or country where you can forget about all that drags you down and just stare into the horizon. Or have a book in the hand and a glass of wine in the other. No matter what way you relax, traveling to a different place that doesn’t remind you of work, school, negative people and situations, will ensure you a peaceful mind and soul. It’s about finding pure bliss in that very moment.

louise-map

Of course, traveling does have some cons, but I could literally only think of one and that is that traveling can be expensive. I, for one, would travel a lot more and definitely go overseas if I could afford it (but there are ways you can travel for less and save money – maybe I’ll write about it in a different post some time). That’s the thing for many of us who love to travel, we sometimes can’t afford it and the people who can afford it, doesn’t spend it on traveling. And if you ask me, traveling is a whole lot more worth than buying expensive clothes and shoes. It feeds the soul, the body and the mind. Traveling is not materialistic, it’s not something that can get old and dirty or be taken away from you.

♥♥♥

To travel is to live, so dream to travel.

Till next time! 🙂
