Information Pollution and what you can do about it.

With the explosion of the Internet we have achieved so many great stuff but also have created many problems for ourselves. The amount of information we have to go through 24/7 is unbelievable. This is making it impossible for everyone to find what is truly important. So as we are becoming more conscious about our planet and our health I believe it’s important to start doing the same for the information we put out in the world. So what can we do about it?

Social Media Cleansing

If you go through my Instagram you will find not many posts. Granted I don’t post everyday but I still delete posts that I find are irrelevant or unhelpful. I do the same thing with my blog. This isn’t because I am embarrassed about past posts but because I want to create a platform easy to navigate that includes helpful information. Keep in mind this is not about quantity. There is no perfect number of posts. You can have 5 or 5.000 and that’s ok. Just make sure that you are proud for each and every one of those posts and that you want people to see them.

Go on a unfollow spree

Ok this sounds kind of mean but think about how much time you spend on social media. Do you really want to waste your time on things that don’t inspire you, don’t help you or even worse make you feel worse?

Don’t follow back

When someone follows you and shows interest in your content you should try checking out their content too. And if you find that it interests you go ahead and follow them back. But if not skip. I for once wouldn’t want someone to follow me because I followed them. I would much rather have people follow me because they genuinely like my content.

Be mindful

Think before you hit the post button. Don’t spam and always be confident in what you put out.

I hope I don’t offend anyone by this post and again this isn’t about numbers. You are the only person that decides what you want to post. I just hope that this post can raise some awareness about a problem that we don’t realize we are facing.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream- Review

The long awaited review is FINALLY here. I’ve been trying and testing this cream in the background and I’m now ready to share my thoughts.

I thoroughly enjoyed this cream. I use it as a night cream because during the day I prefer something with SPF which the ultra facial cream did not provide. Other than that it’s amazingly lightweight and it takes just a minute to dry. It does not dry immediately but other creams that dry within seconds didn’t really work for me. It smells nice and clean but the smell is not strong or overpowering. I personally hate putting strong smells on my face but the ultra facial cream is not one of them. Once it dries you do not smell it. Last it provides adequatemoisture without causing my mixed skin to get oily. All in all, it’s not a state of the art, never seen before product but it is a solid, basic skincare product that performs as it should in a very reasonable price.

What night creams would you suggest I try? Let me know in the comments below!

Mailing Brands? 3 Key-points to include.

Mailing brands for possible collaborations is hard enough. Including this key points will not only make it easier but also more possible for you and other bloggers to land the best partnerships!

  • Straight to the point subject.

Companies receive an enormous amount of mails every single day. From complaints to propositions for collaborations. Having a straight to the point subject such as “Interest In Collaboration” will help the person who comes across your mail to not only know what to expect but also send it to the right department.

  • Mention how much you like the brand.

Okay do not write ten pages showing your immense love for the brand but maybe in one sentence say that you think the particular brand is great. A bit of flattery never hurt anyone.

  • Credit Bloggers

When mailing brands it is a good idea to mention that you came across this brand thanks to a fellow blogger. This is important because you show the brand that working with bloggers gets them recognition. So by saying a blogger is the reason you found out about the brand you help yourself as well as other bloggers.

Do you guys have any key points you always include when mailing brands? Let me know in the comments below.

The easiest way to switch up your space with Desenio.

There are times that we feel like we want to switch up our spaces. But if you don’t want to spend a fortune or a lot of time there are not many things you can do. An easy way to make a change in your space without breaking the bank is with posters.

Desenio offers a wide variety of posters suitable for every different space and taste.

I wanted something for my bedroom wall since my DIY was not really successful. I chose these three gorgeous A4 posters to fit in my tiny space.

I chose this little minimalistic Breathe Poster because sometimes we ned to remind ourselves to relax and take it easy.

I also chose this Diamond Poster because look at it!!!

Last, I got this Don Draper Poster with an inspiring quote because who doesn’t need some inspiration?

Although I didn’t do anything significant my room really changed and I love the way it turned out.

And the kind people at Desenio are offering my followers 25% off posters* with the code NAYA between 12th – 14th of December.

*Except for handpicked-/collaboration posters and frames”.

Check out Desenio and let me know what you think.

5 Apps Every Content Creator Needs

1. Lightroom (Free)

I love using Lightroom for two things. First of all I use it to up the exposure of my photos. From all the photo editing apps I have tried Lightroom gives the most natural result. I also use Lightroom to adjust the colors of my photos to match my blueish Instagram theme!

2. Canva (Free)

You can do so many things with Canva. Create highlight covers for Instagram stories, cards, Pinterest images and so much more. (If you would like a dedicated tutorial let me know in the comments below.)

3. UNUM (Free)

UNUM is a pretty straight forward app. You can use it to plan your Instagram feed. (Something I definitely should start doing more.) I like it, because it gets updated automatically whenever you update your Instagram profile!

4. Hype Type (Free)

Did you ever see a story with animated text? Hype Type does exactly that. You can choose the style and color. Keep in mind that although the app is free the video comes with a watermark that you have to pay to remove.

5. Pixabay (Free)

Pixabay is a great source for free high quality photography. Keeping up with blogging photography is hard and sometimes you need a little help. But you should always use someone’s work with their permission. That’s why Pixabay offers photos without copyright limitations.

Morning Skincare Routine

Today I would like to share with you guys my morning routine that I do everyday some days,if I remember and I am not already an hour late. Although I understand the benefits of a ten step skin care routine this is not something I can do. So here’s my small, humble morning skincare routine.

Cleansing

L’Oréal Ideal Fresh Foaming Cleanser

I like this cleanser because it’s pretty heavy duty. It takes off all of my makeup and dirt off my face. But because it’s so strong it’s also really drying. If you have a dry skin I would not recommend.

Moisturizing

Clinique Eye Cream

I’ve been using this eye cream for a while and I am not really crazy about it. It is somewhat moisturizing but not out of this world best eye cream around.

Charlotte Tilbury Face Cream

Last, I use my Charlotte Tilbury face cream. I really like it because it’s really moisturizing and has SPF which helps cut my routine further down. Check out the full review!

Making your blog legal (The lazy way)

From online research there are two basic things your blog needs to be “legal”. A disclosure policy if you are earning anything from your blog and a privacy policy if you collect any of the user’s data (such as email). Simple enough right? Well no! Since I am not a lawyer or affiliated with one composing these documents myself is impossible. The good news? There are sites that do the work for you for free! You just answer a series of questions and the site composes the policies for you. You just copy and paste them into a page of your blog! Of course if you have a big blog through which you receive significant income the sound choice is to consult a professional lawyer but for beginners like me I think this will suffice. Here you can compose your Privacy Policy and here the Disclosure Policy. I have tried both sites and you can check the results in the corresponding pages of my blog.

Review-Vivid matte liquid lipstick

First I have to say I am a hardcore Maybelline fan. Really good quality products with greater price tags! But this product was a total FAIL. The color I’m reviewing is the 05 nude flush!

But let’s start with the good stuff!

  • Beautiful, sturdy packaging
  • Great color selection ( ten honestly lovely shades from nudes to reds and even some extravagant purples)
  • Does not dry your lips at all. On the contrary it’s pretty hydrating!
  • Easy to use applicator that glides on the lips.

Sounds like a dream right? Well…

  • It does NOT dry matte. No matter how thin of a layer you put , no matter how long you wait it will never be completely matte. (Hence the not drying part). In the end I guess we can’t have the best of both worlds.

  • The color is significantly lighter on the lips and it’s not at all buildable.
  • It transfers like crazy and you’ll have to reapplicate every ten freaking minutes.

Even if I could look away from the fact that it’s not matte the formula is still really bad. I will not be repurchasing!

What is your favorite matte lipstick? Do you have better suggestions?

    • College survival guide!

I recently started college, this being my second semester. My first few weeks I kept thinking how great it was that I had friends there who let me in on all the secrets and made my time so much easier. Consequently, this post is for all of you that don’t have friends in college or you’re just afraid to ask for advice.

      • Socialize

Your first days you might feel like sitting in a corner not making eye contact with anyone. Don’t. Say hi. You are in the same school you do have things in common. It’s way easier to start a conversation!

      • Keep contacts

Getting a name isn’t enough. Facebook, twitter, phone, mail etc. Always ask for contact information. When you’ll miss class and are in desperate need of notes you’ll be greatfull you kept their numbers.

      • Utilize your agenda

Whether it’s digital or not use your agenda for everything. Homework, meetings, parties. In college a ton of things are going on. You don’t want to miss out because you simply forgot.

      • Love your teachers

Ask questions, participate, go to their office. Even if you don’t actually need help. This interaction will help them remember you and make them more keen to give you a good grade.

      • Be yourself

As opposed to school college has more diversity. Ages, nationalities, beliefs. There are so many different people in college. This means that diversity is also more easily accepted. So if you wanted to do something but were afraid of judgement college is a great place to do it.

So that’s it for now. Let’s help each other out!Do you have any advice you could give me about surviving college? Let me know in the comments below.
